python3-pyshp software package provides read/write support for ESRI Shapefile format - Python 3.x, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python3-pyshp
python3-pyshp is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python3-pyshp package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python3-pyshp *
You will get with python3-pyshp package name, version, architecture and description in a table
